On December 9, The Hamilton Project will host a policy forum and release a new discussion paper on the need for a new national poverty measure. In their paper, co-authors Rebecca M. Blank of the Brookings Institution and Mark H. Greenberg ofGeorgetown University propose a new poverty measure that better reflects the actual economic conditions of low-income Americans. Hamilton Project Advisory Council members Roger C. Altman of Evercore Partners and Robert Reischauer of the Urban Institute will open the forum and lead the discussion. Read More

Formerly minister of Economic Development and Transportation, and director of National Planning of Colombia, his research focuses on international and development economics. He is also the president of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA).
