Overview

Spend a week on Capitol Hill and explore the intricacies of the legislative process firsthand. You will hear from Members of Congress, congressional staffers, journalists, and lobbyists, who will share tips on how to forge better working relationships with Members and staff. Sit in on committee hearings, mark-ups, and floor votes and learn how current national policy issues affect Congress, helping you to be more effective on the Hill. Brookings experts and other analysts will also discuss the role of congressional staff, the complex congressional committee process, floor procedure, advocacy and lobbying, and the relationship between Congress and the media.
